Our mission
To make disciples
our vision
To cultivate a church that stands apart from the world—a place where the frantic pace and noise are replaced by the peace and rhythm of God’s presence. We are committed to embracing intentional practices of discipleship, apprenticing under Jesus in quiet surrender to His will. Through simple gatherings—breaking bread, studying Scripture, and praying together—we seek to foster deep transformation through the Holy Spirit, shaping our lives and communities to reflect His love and truth.
What we believe
The following statements are intended only to represent a summary of what we believe, a starting point for conversation in one’s spiritual journey. We also make no claims that these statements represent the totality of belief or understanding on any of the topics addressed, just that they cover orthodox fundamental matters. Also, if you don’t want to read this whole thing, skip to number 11.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three beings: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and this God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3, Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:15-17)
We believe that human beings are created in the image of God and, therefore, have supreme value and worth. As such, we believe that God desires a close relationship with us and has a plan for our flourishing. (Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 139:14, Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
We believe that human beings have rejected God’s design, violated their calling, and chosen to believe that they possess the ability to determine the course of their life in whatever way they see fit, regardless of the carnage left in their wake. The Scriptures’ word for this is sin. As a result, we are in need of saving. (Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23)
We believe that God loves us, every single person on this earth. Because of this deep love, He sent His Son, Jesus, who willingly came to live among his creation and ultimately died for them. (John 1:14, 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1 Peter 2:21-25)
We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, humbled himself by letting go of aspects of his divine power in order to live a fully human existence. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life fully reliant on the Holy Spirit, was obedient to the Father’s will, suffered, died, and came back to life, defeating sin and death for all those who choose to accept his invitation to follow him. (Luke 2, Matthew 26-28, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 54-58, Romans 5:8, Acts 4:12, Matthew 11:28-30)
We believe that our sin separates us from God and that we must ask for and accept God’s forgiveness, believing Jesus died and rose again, and surrender ourselves to the work of transformation that God, through his Spirit, desires to do in all of us by following the example set for us in Jesus. In other words, we must accept God’s gracious invitation to join his spiritual family, turn from our own destructive patterns and habits (sin), and commit to grow in our understanding of what it means to live out God’s kingdom values in this world. (John 1:12, Acts 26:18, Colossians 1:13-14, Titus 3:3-8, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 10:9-10, 8:1-2)
We believe that followers of Jesus have access to God’s divine presence here and now through the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit enables us to be transformed in such a way that we become, in ever-increasing ways, channels through which God’s love and power can flow out into the world. We believe we can be a non-anxious, peace-emanating presence to those around us as a result of the Spirit’s work in us. (Romans 12:1-2, Romans 8, Ephesians 1, Matthew 5:3-10, 14-16, 2 Peter 1:3-9, 1 Peter 2:9-10, Titus 2:11-14)
We believe the Bible (composed of Protestant Old and New Testaments) to be both true and authoritative. We make this claim because we believe God divinely inspired the original authors through the Holy Spirit to pen them. (2 Timothy 3:15-17 and 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe that we were not meant to walk this journey alone, and participation in a local church family is essential to one’s understanding of how to live out God’s intention for us and this world, including, but not limited to, caring for the most vulnerable among us. As a spiritual family, we want to invite people to learn how to grow with Jesus, become more like him, and live out his Kingdom in our daily lives. (Acts 2:42-47, Matthew 25:31-46, James 1:27, Colossians 3:12-17, John 17:20-23)
We believe that what you believe is important, but who you are becoming is even more important. We want to come alongside people and help them apprentice to Jesus and grow in their capacity to pass that transformative experience on to others. (Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 11:28-30, 2 Timothy 2:2, Philippians 4:8-9)
Lastly, everyone (and we mean everyone) is welcome at our gatherings. We can handle your objections, reluctance, or even church hurt. We won’t pressure you into anything. Everything we do is by invitation. Even if we can’t see eye to eye on certain things, we believe we can still be friends and, at the very least, treat people with dignity and respect regardless of background or beliefs. We believe churches should be safe places to explore one’s faith and relationship with God, and we endeavor to be that space for those who are seeking. (John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:9)
